An amazing friend of mine -that I truly consider family- is also trying to lose weight & get healthy. So we decided to do this together. Although we live in two different states, we are going to be each other's support system! Yesterday, I hatched a plan that we should promise each other something every day that we don't really want to do, but will because we promised Some people may think that's crazy - but I don't break promises and I know she doesn't either.
Day 1 - I promised to do 25 sit ups before bed. -check-
Day 2 - I promised to drink 6 glasses of water. -still working on it! I'm halfway there.-
In other news, I started Weight Watcher's today. It's not bad at all! I can have whatever I want, but I can only have so many points a day. If anyone is interested in the points system, let me know. I found some really neat tools online that can help if you can't really afford it right now.
Breakfast
Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt - 2 points
Lunch
Subway 6 inch Meatball Marinara (they are only $2 bucks in December!) - 12 points -yikes!-
I did 30 sit ups and 20 girly push ups before work. Not a lot, I know - but I have to start somewhere.
Love ya'll!

Christmas is here...
I didn't make my goal of 50 pounds by Christmas - but I'm okay with that. It was quite a lofty goal to begin with. However, I have made progress & that counts for something!
I decided to stop the Medi Weight Loss program - it just wasn't for me. It made me feel very weak, very sick, and I just could not function on 500 calories.
Now I'm just watching what I eat, doing light work outs at home, and going to the gym a few times a week. I'm not losing 12.5 pounds a week, but I'm still losing!
When I reach my goal weight Tyler and I will be taking a trip to New York! That in it self is enough to motivate me.
I'm going to attempt to post weekly meal plans & recipes as often as I can. I want to reach as many people as I can and find people to lose weight with me! Like an online buddy system!
Love ya'll!

How's it going? GRRREAT!
I'm on day 10 of the Medi Weight Loss Diet and I have lost 12.5 pounds!
The first week was kind of hard, but it was doable. For 7 whole days, all I could eat was string cheese, plain greek yogurt, lean meats, and egg whites. It was really hard putting a meal together - but I did it and lost 10.5 pounds!
I have to admit I love week two! Probably because I love fruit and vegetables. This week, I can have everything I had in week one - but I can add 1 cup of vegetables and 1 cup of fruit, or 2 cups of vegetables.
Tuesday night I made chicken stir fry and it was amazing! :)
I've also been able to eat out - @ Logan's I had a steak and a salad. Yum!
I'm pretty excited that I've lost 12.5 pounds so far. My goal is to lose 50 pounds by Christmas. What do ya'll think?
Love ya'll.

Every journey begins with one step.
I've known for years that I am at an unhealthy weight. It makes me tired, it makes me irritable, and it makes me have low self-esteem. Even though I know all of that, I wasn't doing much to change it. I would counter my personal trainers efforts every chance I got. I ate out a few times a week and would drink soda like it was water. I had no self control when it came to food - or Dr. Pepper.
Monday morning, I overslept and missed class. I'm not even sure why. I had gone to bed at a normal time Sunday night, but I just could not make myself get out of bed. When I finally fully woke up at 9am, 11 hours after I had gone to sleep, I was so mad at myself!
That was my final straw! I knew that I had to do something. I did some quick research and called to make an appointment with Medi Weight Loss Clinic in Fairhope. I asked for the soonest appointment and thankfully they had a cancellation for 10am. I hurried into the shower and got ready. Nervous as all get it.
So at 10am - I sat there waiting in the lobby for them to call me to the back. It didn't take long before they did. They started by taking a picture of me, from the front and from the side. Kind of like a full body police mug shot. :) They weighed me on a special scale that measures BMI, water, etc. Then they did an EKG, blood work, and a urine sample. Pretty hardcore stuff just for weight loss. Hopefully that is a good sign.
I talked to the doctor for about an hour and a half. She gave me medicine to suppress my appetite, vitamins, and a meal plan to follow. My goal is to lose 100 pounds. It should take me about 10 months. Just in time for bikini season!
On top of a very structured weight loss plan, I'm a student, and I'm going through laser tattoo removal.
It's not going to be easy, but I hope to be a whole new me by next July!
